In my ten years of therapeutic practice, I have discovered that both an evidence-based and multifaceted approach is most effective at facilitating deep, and lasting, change. All of the therapy models I use are proven by research to truly allow people to recover either from mental health and relationship issues. In order to enhance one’s ability to cope with the challenges of life in an effective and healthy way, as well as to work on their relationship skills, including communication, I use Dialectical Behavior Therapy. This approach is proven effective by an abundance of research. Another approach I use is for trauma which is Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). This approach is proven by research (and my clinical experience!), to reduce the distress one has related to a traumatic memory. In the case of many individuals, a highly traumatic memory can become neutral to the person when recalled. For those of us for trauma, this is a truly life changing approach! Finally, I also use the Gottman Method for couples which was created from decades of research on what makes relationships fail, and what allows them to thrive and last.
Given my multifaceted approach, I tailor all therapy to meet your specific needs. Whether you are struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma or relationship issues, I will help you recognize underlying problems, fully realize your strengths and adjust certain behaviors and thoughts to see things a different, healthier way.
