About Krystal Mazzola

Hi, I’m Krystal Mazzola Wood and I’m so appreciative you are here.

As a licensed marriage and family therapist, I created the Healthy Relationship Foundation to support you with systems which are proven effective to overcome issues related to a lack of self-love, poor boundaries, communication and intimacy. These systems I’ve developed after more than a decade of clinical practice.

My passion for recovery stems from my own struggles with depression, anxiety, PTSD, and codependency. I grew up in an abusive, alcoholic home which negatively impacted my mental and relationship health. Through my early adulthood, I struggled every day with painful emotions stemming from my trauma. This led to difficulty with accepting, and loving, myself as well as having healthy relationships with others. Despite this, I always knew healing was possible.

I’ve dedicated my entire life to healing and eventually found the path to recovery. I’m humbled and proud to share that I truly love myself unconditionally now (truly amazing!) and have a life filled with healthy relationships.

Over time, through my own recovery, and my work with countless clients, I developed the systems I hope to teach you. Some of these steps, and skills, are featured in my two best-selling books, The Codependency Recovery Plan: A 5 Step Guide to Understand, Accept and Break Free from the Codependent Cycle and The Codependency Workbook: Simple Practices for Developing and Maintaining Your Independence.
